    The text, illustrations and animations on this Rusch Children's Heart Center site are written by board-certified pediatric cardiologists.  There is information on heart anatomy, terminology, medications and a variety of diagnostic test.

    www.americanheart.org The American Heart Association has a section devoted to children and youth which provides information on heart murmurs, a variety of heart defects and a description of some of the diagnostic tests used.  Information is also available in Spanish.

    The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia provides fact sheets on a variety of heart defects, test and procedures that are commonly used.  It also includes colored diagrams and has answers to frequently asked questions.

    It’s hard to believe but the Children’s Clubhouse is celebrating its one-year anniversary! Since opening in June 2006, 1214 children have visited the Clubhouse.  The Clubhouse began as a way to provide a special place for parents to bring siblings, allowing them to spend focused time with their hospitalized child or to take their child to a visit with one of our pediatric specialists.

  • Definitions of Childhood Obesity

    “The term obesity denotes excess body fat more accurately and reflects the associated serious health risks more clearly than does the term overweight, which is not recognized as a clinical term for high adiposity.
